The European Universities Athletics Championship (EUC Athletics) event is supported by two strategic partners who will be fundamental to its success: the Portuguese Athletics Federation (FPA) and the Lisbon Higher Education Sports Association (ADESL)

FPA – Portuguese Athletics Federation

Outside the university context, the growth and consolidation of athletics in Portugal has been based on the continuous work of the FPA. Founded in 1921, the federation is the highest authority for the sport in the country, coordinating 22 regional associations and regulating national competitions. It is responsible for structuring the entire career path of athletes, from training to high-level competition, ensuring the technical and organizational foundation that sustains Portugal's international results. Its recognition as an Honorary Member of the Order of Infante D. Henrique, in 1998, symbolizes the federation's historic impact on the national sporting scene and reinforces its relevance in promoting Portuguese athletics abroad, giving it an essential role in the success of EUC Athletics 2027.

ADESL – Lisbon Higher Education Sports Association

The Lisbon Higher Education Sports Association (ADESL) was created on December 22, 2004, by the Lisbon Higher Education Academic and Student Associations (AAEE's) with the aim of strengthening and promoting university sports in the region. Its mission is to organize and promote sports activities, emphasizing the social and educational aspects of sports and encouraging healthy lifestyles among students. Operating as a non-profit multi-sport federation, ADESL is based on the active participation of each higher education institution in Lisbon, gradually expanding its activities at the regional and national levels, in conjunction with the Academic Federation of University Sports (FADU), inheriting from it the position of SAD/AAL as a founding member.

Thanks to the collaboration between the FPA and ADESL, EUC Athletics 2027 has a solid foundation of organizational experience and technical knowledge, ensuring excellence in the staging of the first edition of this European university athletics championship in Lisbon.
