Dear University Sports Community,

It is with enormous pride and a sense of responsibility that FADU Portugal welcomes the 2027 European University Athletics Championships, to be held in the city of Lisbon. This will be an absolutely historic edition, as it is the first edition of the European University Athletics Championships, a milestone that greatly honors us and reinforces the commitment of European university sports to growth, innovation, and competitive excellence.

We take on this challenge with great ambition and a total commitment to delivering an excellent edition that will have a positive impact on student-athletes, institutions, and everyone who is part of this ecosystem. We want Lisbon 2027 to represent the real kick-off for a major European event, capable of affirming university athletics and contributing to the development of a sport that is undoubtedly one of the most medal-winning and emblematic of the Olympic movement.

It is with great pleasure that Portugal, and in particular the city of Lisbon, is preparing to welcome the European university community in an atmosphere of sharing, competition, friendship, and celebration of sport. We are certain that this championship will be a source of pride for all of us and a significant boost for university athletics.
